I am a Vancouver Island Based Photographer.
My first camera was a Polaroid when I was about 7 or 8. You know, the kind you had to shake the picture!
I took a ton of photos! But the specialized film was so expensive, that I wasn’t allowed to take pictures with it anymore. Instead, I received a film camera and started shooting.
Fast forward about 25 years and my husband decided to give me a gift: a starter Canon Rebel DSLR kit. Best. Gift. Ever.
At first, the results were terrible. I didn’t even know what white balance was or RAW. I read a zillion blogs and watched a million Youtube tutorials, switched over to manual mode and never looked back.
I spend the majority of my time exploring my home of Vancouver Island. The rest of my time is spent in San Tan Valley Arizona, where I enjoy photographing desert sunsets and landscapes.
Remember: The expert at anything was once a beginner.
